Lotus Flowers & Gift Boutique initiated in 2020, right before the pandemic. Lotus originally did not have a name since it was more of a hobby. I, Luisa Prieto began by decorating wood boxes with treats such as chocolate covered strawberries, candies and others goodies. It was a success, and as I started getting clientele, I decided to start adding flowers. While getting more and more into it, watching videos images and more Lotus had begun its story. Why Lotus? Lotus was the chosen name because the Lotus flower has a beautiful meaning; “The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower”. Lotus then became a flower boutique, creating beautiful flower arrangements for all occasions. Mid 2021, I met my significant other, Eddie Olivas. We had many ideas and future plans in common and took a next step, we decided to open up a flower shop together. In less than a month we took a flower course in Houston to get trained and learn more about the flower industry. We want to bring a different flower shop concept to El Paso, with some of the latest ideas and trends. Everything is detailed and created with passion and love. “Embrace the Love” has a meaning behind, with both being CEOs, we wanted the slogan to include something meaningful to both of us, “Embrace” has an “E” for Eddie and “Love” has the “L” for Luisa, embrace the love is the perfect meaning to hold tightly and open your heart.
